About Me
Hi, my name is Paula, and I am the artist behind Paula Rae Art.
I am a wife, mother, and grandmother who loves to create. My work focuses on unique acrylic
and mixed media paintings that blend soft, subtle elements with bold, expressive details,
creating a moody and dynamic feel.
I am based in Fort Worth, Texas, but my creative journey began in Cedar Falls, Iowa,
after my children were grown and on their own, and I had ended a 15 year career in
bookkeeping. I had been drawn to art for many years, however I never had the time
or confidence to pursue it on my own.
I would often find myself walking through Hobby Lobby, inspired by the beautiful materials and
creative possibilities, wishing I knew how to bring those ideas to life. After attending many craft shows,
I finally decided to try my hand at crafting, and that decision became the beginning
of the journey that led me to where I am today.
My Artistic Journey
After several years of crafting, I felt drawn
once again to painting, especially abstract art.
Through a period of exploration, including
online classes, and hands on experimentation,
I discovered my artistic voice. My work reflects two sides
of my personality, bold and expressive, as well as soft
and subtle.
I often begin with a quiet, understated background and
build upon it with layered, vibrant color, and movement.
I have recently fallen in love with acrylic ink, which I incorporate into my work to add depth, texture, and an element of mystery.
For the past three years, I have been creating and sharing
my artwork, and I hope you will find a piece that feels just right for your home or office.
My artwork reflects my passion for abstract design and my desire to bring beauty and inspiration into people’s homes.
Where Art Meets Life
Each painting is created with intention,
and no two pieces are ever alike.
Each piece carries its own story and brings
a distinct presence into every space.
I love how abstract art allows me to express emotion, movement, and depth in a way that feels free, intuitive,
and limitless.
Outside of my art, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my two wonderful grandsons, taking walks with my three adorable dogs, and singing in our church choir.
I am truly grateful to be able to share my
creative journey with others through my work.
