This piece is very quiet and contemplative - the narrow vertical format gives it a sense of solitude, almost like looking through a crack in time or memory. The soft blues and earthy browns feel grounded, but a little distant. As with all my paintings, the background is soft and flowy, and then the additional layers bring on the distinct shape and feeling.
