Fracture in Blue is a 14 x 14 abstract painting in blue, gray and black acrylic paints along with black acrylic ink. I matted this in white, and a white frame to offset the bold colors.
The painting feels emotional - like a quiet rupture or bloom caught mid-impact. The blues read as breath or water, while the black lines feel decisive, almost like a moment of truth cutting through calm. As always, I started with a watered down version of gray acrylics, and they have a mind of their own moving and creating their mark. The blues flowed really well, but there kept being a point of contact almost, which is where I placed the lines coming out of, showing movement.
