The Moment of Lift is a 12 x 15 abstract painting of dark titanium white, rust, and black acrylics on 300 gsm cold pressed watercolor paper. I custom matted it in black, and framed it in black.
This painting is very dynamic and explosive - the black strokes shoot upward and outward while the rust and watered down rust wash underneath feels like heat, earth, or motion. The watered down pigments create the backdrop to every one of my paintings, and the subsequent layers bring in more color and movement. This one almost took on a winged movement.
