The Brightening is a 12 x 12 acrylic painting of aspen trees on gallery wrapped canvas. I have always been drawn in by aspen trees, and after living in Colorado for 5 years, the fascination has only grown! These trees are set in a grove of trees - some distant, and some shining brightly in the sunshine up front! They have a wonderful texture to them - I use acrylic paint additives to give them a stiff texture, so it feels like you are actually touching a tree! The yellow hues of the tree make you think of being in a happy, serene place.
