Awaking is a 12 x 12 acrylic painting of aspen trees on gallery wrapped canvas. I have always been drawn in by aspen trees, and after living in Colorado for 5 years, the fascination has only grown! These trees are the brightest of bright, shining happily in the sunshine! They have a wonderful texture to them - I use acrylic paint additives to give them a stiff texture, so it feels like you are actually touching a tree! The yellow hues of the trees make you think of being in a happy, serene place.
